Whether you own one now or are planning to purchase a tablet this holiday, keeping your device safe and secure will be top of mind.

Whether it’s WiFi-Only or it Has a Data Plan, We’ve Got You Covered.
At Lookout, we know tablets are the new mobile frontier, so we made our same smartphone security protection and find-my-phone functionality available on any tablet or iPad—including Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and WiFi-only tablets. So regardless of which kind of tablet or iPad you have, you can keep your device safe.

Already Have Lookout on Your Smartphone? Manage Your Tablet from the Same Lookout Account. If you’re already using Lookout on your smartphone, you can now easily add a tablet to your account so all of your mobile devices are managed in one place at mylookout.com. Also, Lookout automatically updates over-the-air, making it easier on you to keep your most personal devices safe.

So if you’re touting a tablet, secure it with Lookout! The Lookout Mobile Security app is available for download in the App Store or Android Market for free.

Your tablet is just as important as your phone (and likely has a higher price tag) so we wouldn’t recommend on skimping to keep it safe!

With so much online shopping, bill paying, and even in person purchasing using our tablets and other mobile devices, they are an easy target for hacking and data theft.

  4. Frank Clancy says:

Android security is becoming more critical as the Droid takes over many tasks previously only handled by the PC – banking, travel, shopping, Credit Card management, work information, and the list goes on. I need to know that my personal information is secure and safe. I looked into all available products and Lookout was by far the best and most secure.

  5. KonradZuse says:

“Why tablet safety is important to you” this question will be answered many different ways by many different people, but to me safety is a concern on ALL PLATFORMS not just tablets. Lookout is an ESSENTIAL item on my smartphone, and it’s essential on the android tablets as well.

In our day and age(The technology age) anti-virus, firewalls, encryption, basically safety and security, is a MUST HAVE. Every day billions of malicious software floods the internet, and many many infected devices. To those with important data this is your worst nightmare. With lookout you will not have to worry about any of that. I have never seen a program with the ability to do what Lookout does. Just having an anti-virus scanner and security protection is good enough, but lookout goes beyond that to be able to lock your device, wipe any information you would never want anyone to see, and even be able to find the exact location of your phone. This is a HUGE plus to those who forget their cellphones/tablets in places. Usually you would be out of luck, your data would be available to everyone(Pictures, videos, documents, email, facebook, etc). There are MANY people who have their ENTIRE LIVES on their phone, and if it fals into the wrong hands it could cause major issues for your life. This is why lookout is an ESSENTIAL program for those who use smartphones, you cannot be stupid with a smartphone.

  6. Nelson Wasiuk says:

tablets are today’s computers. all my personal info is there, so if i NEVER had my computer without av. my tablet will be protected with Lookout

  7. Tina Haumersen says:

I’ve been using Lookout Premium on my Android phones and have been waiting for them to release a version for Android tablets. I wouldn’t use anything else. Anti-virus, backups, location – all of the features Lookout offers for phones are essential for tablets as well. Tablets are quickly replacing laptops for portability and with all of the security issues of public wifi, having something as reliable as Lookout Premium is increasingly important these days.

  8. Gary says:

Security is of the utmost importantance
because if i loose my tablet I have basically
    lost my wallet and identity

  9. Rich W. says:

Tablet security is important to me because as mobile devices get more powerful, more will be done with them, which increases the chance of “bad things” happening to your data or your device. As the use and power of the devices increases so does the security and protection provided to them. With a tablet device compared to a phone, people are more likely to do more business work or web surfing and purchasing on them, which makes them even more vulnerable to data or device theft. That is why protection has to keep up with the times and devices to make sure we are secure always.

  10. Hugo Paca says:

Tablet Security is important to me because its where i keep my personal information, along with my music and photos of me and my family. My tablet is also connected to the lighting and other electornic gadgets around my house and well if your like me and lose things all the time every day My Lookout has an alarm Feature that blares an alarm so you can find your lost Tablet. Its Perfect for me cause i lose controllers all the time and i can never track em down so easily. All and all Tablet Security is Very Important from hackers to Thieves to even Your Clumsy self!

  11. Brett H says:

Tablet and Phones are very at risk today without proper security protection from Lookout. Many users input and store security sensitive data on their devices such as, credit card numbers, addresses, passwords and other important data. With so many people using tablets and phones we have created an ideal surrounding for a new aged thief. It is critical to install Lookout to keep your device secure and lockout/wipe your device if it is ever lost or stolen.

  12. Devin says:

Tablet safety is as critical as any other digital medium which has access to your stored information and online presence. The explosion of the tablet market over the past 18 months has freed many people from the burden of ‘laptops’, but it should not free you from being conscious of the inherent risks in any computing medium. Many see phones and tablets as ‘safe’ havens from viruses, trojans and hackers. This misleads people to believing they do not need spyware, anti-virus, remote lock and wipe, and the other useful features robust, designed for mobile applications like Lookout provide.

Much like your house keys, tablets and like devices are keys to our digital selves. While we wouldn’t consciously try to lose them, accidents happen and software and hardware options to secure your digital identity are critical to our peace of mind and quality of online life.

  13. Zack says:

Mobile security is important to me as it is to everyone else because of the fact that nowadays, it is so easy to hack into almost anything, and smart phones are a prime target, considering they hold everything from contacts to credit card information and much more. I am so glad to have Lookout just in case something should happen. Lookout is by far the BEST mobile security software out there.

  14. G. A. Newburn says:

I use two tablets, both with Lookout & love the fact that all installations are scanned. It gives extra confidence in tablet computing!

  15. Jim D, says:

I admin two sites as part of my job, so it’s critical that my mobile devices be as bulletproof as I can make them. I’ve used Lookout on my ‘droids for a long time, and have found more than one lost device by mapping it.

It’s nice to see Lookout scan my downloads and pronounce them “safe”, given the fact that virus problems are going to become more and more prevalent on mobile products.

Now Lookout can keep my tablets just as safe….LOVE IT!

  16. preston says:

i think its important if u lose ur phone because i lost my phone and didn’t put anything on it to track it not im without a phone and your product is one of the best ones out there to use to protect ur phone

  17. LiquidZero says:

Tablet security is important for a number of reasons, including, though not limited to: tracking a misplaced device, protecting your private data from being shared, preventing other applications from manipulating your devices performance and features, keeping a backup of felevant data like contacts, documents, photos, etc.

I have only been using Lookout for about a week but have found that its features dominate that of their many competitors for these reasons and many more. From tracking your devices location, to protecting assets that are valuable to you, Lookout offers what is necessary for your device to survive the digital jungle of malicious threats and hijackers.

Tracking your data usage is relevant to users like me who have a limited monthly bandwidth; preventing me from costly overage charges.

Thanks Lookout for a grrat product. Even your free version is great to me!

  18. Robin Crory says:

It’s not all about the tablets you know! My poor HTC Desire hd, stuck other freebie. :o (

  19. Khairul Rizal says:

Im glad that my iPad and android phone share the same account now. Lookout ever saved my android phone contacts and messages when it malfunctioned about 2 years ago. Ever since then, I’ve been using lookout for all my mobile device. Thank you for designing the new app for the tablets while still making it free for poor students like me.
Lookout definitely look great while looking out for threat.

  20. Bryan says:

I am a college student and have been thinking about getting a tablet for a while. Securing the device would be important for me since I have already experienced similar problems that tablet users have in one way or another. During my first semester, I had to write a 10 page paper for my composition class. In order to save my work, I used a USB memory stick and transferred data from the library computers. Mistake! my computer had contracted a virus and I had lost all of the work I had done up to that point.

I am a college student and have been thinking about getting a tablet for a while. Tablet safety would be important for me since I have already experienced similar problems that tablet users have in one way or another. During my first semester, I had to write a 10 page paper for my composition class. In order to save my work, I used a USB memory stick and transferred data from the library computers to my own. Big mistake! My computer had contracted a virus and I had lost all of the work I had done up to that point. It was this experience that made me learn the hard way about computer safety.
The second experience I’ve had which could happen with any tablet is loss of the device. One day I was in a campus bathroom, and had left to get ready for class. I brought my accounting book with me into the bathroom and walked out feeling empty handed. By the time I got back to the bathroom, there was a swarm of men around the stall I was in. One of them held my text book in the air and was asking who it belonged to. I got my book back, but if it would have been a tablet I had left in the stall instead of a textbook, all of my work would have been jeopardized and I would’ve probably lost an expensive piece of technology since nobody would have been likely to have asked who it belonged to. This is the reason why if I do decide to buy a tablet that safety would be important to me. Since Lookout provides a solution to both, malware and a lost or stolen mobile device, I’d have peace of mind only after it has been installed on my tablet.

  23. Juergen says:

Tablets are more and more used not just for messaging, but also for working with documents – so they contain even more sensitive data than any smartphone.

  24. Faye Nkosi says:

As a business owner, my Android is the first thing in my hand when I wake up and the last thing I put down before I sleep. Getting a virus, or getting it lost or stolen would damage my business greatly.
Knowing that I can easily locate it on the LookOut website is very reassuring. Knowing that my device and work is also protected from viruses let’s me sleep easy at night.

I do not currently have a tablet, but am dreaming of one…and like my current Android, I would GLADLY add it to my current profile.

    After all…why change a winning recipe…?

  25. abby gantar says:

Lookout is great for your tablet. It allows automatic updates to keep it safe.
And Lookout security keeps it safe from malware, viruses, lost, & theft.
you can’t go wrong wit Lookout.
